What’s New for the 2021 INFINITI QX80?
In 2021, the INFINITI QX80 gets some changes all around. The latest luxury SUV adds more safety technology to its list of standard features. There are some minor design changes to the exterior too, including a chrome-accented lower grille with defined, athletic contours. A squared jawline shows off the INFINITI’s new front fascia, while the hood is slightly higher, showcasing the vehicle’s minor height increase. Chrome now accents the taillight for enhanced visibility and style. A contemporary cabin provides a luxurious atmosphere for a relaxed ride, while there is still plenty of power under the hood.
Some minor but notable updates await drivers and occupants for the interior of the QX80 in the 2021 model year, including refreshed leather seats that are specially treated for softness and durability. The treated leather seats are also designed for climate control with the unique ability to help the seats stay warm in winter and cool in summer. Rides in the QX80 are quiet and enjoyable thanks to noise-insulating glass that blocks out even the loudest city and highway noise. Contoured seats ensure optimal comfort, while heated front seats are standard, and ventilated seats are available. Hands-free technology includes Apple CarPlay integration and support for Android Auto on all trims. Up to seven devices can charge simultaneously with the onboard WiFi.
Automatic collision detection is a new safety feature this year, which has the ability to call a response specialist in case the car is in an accident. Predictive forward collision allows the vehicle to detect and avoid collisions by monitoring traffic in front of the vehicle, including a range of up to two cars ahead so that the driver has time to respond if cars ahead stop short. Blind-spot monitoring and blind-spot intervention are other safety features that come standard on the 2021 QX80.
Despite its luxurious exterior, the INFINITI QX80 is a respectable power horse. The QX80 now gets a hydraulic body motion control system as an available feature that distributes variable pressure as needed to the suspension system to create a smooth ride. All-mode four-wheel drive provides traction and power and stability in all conditions and on all driving surfaces. The engine for the QX80 is a 5.6-liter V8 that has a maximum power output of 400 horsepower and just over 400 lb-ft of torque. This power output gives the QX80 an 8,500-pound towing capacity.
